Early Learning Centres In The Northern Territory
Families living in the remote Northern Territory communities of Minjilang and Lajamanu are encouraged to enrol their children at one of our local early learning centres.
Our centres at Minjilang on Croker Island and Lajamanu on the edge of the Tanami Desert opened in 2013 and now each enrol up to 30 children aged birth to five years.
They deliver high quality, culturally sensitive early learning and development programs to support children to have fun and explore in a welcoming environment that is safe and secure. Our programs also help to improve emotional and physical wellbeing.
We welcome all families and community members to enrol and be involved in our centres’ activities, programs and decisions. We also encourage the involvement of community elders and place value on their role within local communities.
Our programs are funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and aim to build close relationships with local schools, clinics and other key services in local communities to enhance opportunities and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
