What is private home care?

If you’re looking for additional home care support, or you’re not eligible for a government-funded care package, we can provide personalised support – as little or as much as you need – through private care.  

This is often called ‘fee for service’ and means we will invoice you directly for the care we deliver to you.  

Am I eligible?  

We offer private care to people who would like to access some support to stay living at home.  

Self-funded care is a popular option if you:  

  • Are not eligible for government-funded aged care.  

  • Are a self-funded retiree who needs to pay the full income tested care fee to access a Home Care Package.  

  • Are on the wait list for a Home Care Package but would like to receive some services straight away.  

What does it include?

Through our Private Home Care services you can access a wide range of services to support you with the care you need within the comfort of your own home. Services include: 

  • Domestic support

    Support with cleaning and household tasks. 

  • Personal care

    Help with showering, medication, and meal preparation.

  • Home maintenance

    Help with the garden and other household maintenance.

  • Nutrition and meal preparation

    Support with nutrition, meal preparation, and diet.

  • Transport

    Providing transport to appointments and activities.

  • Social support

    Supporting you to maintain social connections.

  • Mobility and adaptive equipment

    Helping you stay safe and comfortable.

  • Nursing care and assessment

    Receive nursing care that comes to you.

  • Allied health therapy

    Including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and podiatry.

  • Assistive technology and telehealth

    Supporting you to stay connected from home.

  • Respite

    Care for you while your carer has a break.

  • And more...

How does it work?

Step 1  

Call our friendly team on 1800 792 359 to discuss your care needs and how we can support you.  

Step 2 

We’ll provide you with information on our services, our costs, and put you in touch with your local care coordinator to visit you at home to assess your care needs.  

Step 3 

With your input and collaboration, we’ll develop a care plan and set you up to receive our services.  

What will I pay?

You will only pay for the services you need. We will work with you to develop a care plan that suits your needs and budget.
