What are Lifestyle and Community Supports?

At Life Without Barriers, we understand how important it is to support people living with disabilities to be connected to and be a part of their community. Under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), social and community participation means supporting people living with disabilities to engage fully in their communities.

We offer a wide range of activities to help you connect with others, take part in community events, and enjoy fun activities. We provide different types of support – short-term, long-term, or temporary – wherever you feel most comfortable: at home, at one of our Hubs or out in the community.

If you would like to know more about some of the activities we run during the week, head to Our Services page.

How does it benefit me?

We understand that living with a disability is a unique aspect of your identity, not a limitation. Our main goal is to offer services and support tailored to each person's specific needs and preferences. We are here to follow your lead and support what you would like to try. We can offer one-on-one support, personalised assistance, services at your home, and a variety of programs both at our Hubs and within the community. Our services are available throughout the week, including various supports on the weekend.

Age

No matter your circumstances or age, our team can support you across the span of your life. Whether you're under 18, transitioning into adulthood, or in need of aged care support, we've got you covered. We can also assist with school transition, helping you integrate into the community as a young adult.

Location

Our Hub is situated in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, and we also have a secondary space at our Hand2Hand Craft store in the central part of town. Our services also extend to Lake Macquarie and even Maitland.

Funding

Life Without Barriers is a registered NDIS provider in every state and territory. This means our Lifestyle and Community Supports are NDIS-funded for people with disabilities.
