Life Without Barriers has committed to an additional payment for frontline workers who support people with a confirmed or suspected case of coronavirus.
The Covid-19 Complex Care Payment recognises the value of the work frontline support workers do and the extra vigilance required to ensure that we can provide continuity of care to the people we support whilst promoting their safety and wellbeing.
Life Without Barriers Chief Executive Claire Robbs said, “During the Covid-19 pandemic, staff who provide services directly to clients have been vital in ensuring our services can continue.
“Our staff who provide direct support to clients have had to undertake specialised training and in instances where people we support have a suspected or confirmed case, staff have had to learn new processes This payment recognises our staff and the support they have and will provide our clients through Covid-19.”
The payment is an above award amount of an additional $5 per hour for staff providing face to face care to a person who has been confirmed to have the virus or is suspected by a health authority to have the virus.
