Life Without Barriers welcomes the Albanese Labor Government’s announcement today of $166,000 for the Flourish Project, a new eight-week group program designed to support women who have experienced family and domestic violence.
The Flourish Project, funded under the Government’s Strong and Resilient Communities Inclusive Communities program, aims to provide essential support and resources for victim-survivors, focusing on their recovery and healing. This initiative will be instrumental in helping women navigate their journey towards stability and empowerment.
CEO of Life Without Barriers, Claire Robbs said “The Flourish Project provides victim-survivors with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and connect with their communities.”
Assistant Minister for Social Services and the Prevention of Family Violence, Justine Elliot, made the announcement during her visit to Life Without Barriers’ Brisbane offices.
“We welcome Assistant Minister Justine Elliot’s announcement today to fund this vital project, which allows Life Without Barriers to deliver comprehensive support tailored to the needs of women who have faced violence,” she said.
The Flourish Project will receive funding over two years (2024-25 to 2025-26) and is part of the Albanese Labor Government’s broader commitment to investing in community-driven solutions.
Life Without Barriers is dedicated to creating positive change and fostering resilience within communities.
“With this generous support, we will enhance our ability to provide vital services and programs, ensuring that women affected by violence receive the care and support they deserve,” said CEO Claire Robbs.
