Meet Em, a social woman with a contagious laugh and a great sense of humour.

Everyone has their own unique story to tell; today, meet Emily.

Emily, or as her friends call her, Em, is a spirited 23-year-old living in Newcastle, NSW. Em's day-to-day routine is anything but ordinary, filled with laughter, music, creativity, and a good dose of horror movie excitement.

Em is the type of person who loves to keep busy with fun activities such as karaoke, seeing her family and friends, and catching the bus to go shopping, visit the library, or see a movie.

While Em does participate in a day program, it's far from routine. She's actively involved in various activities that bring in some extra income. This includes selling craft items she makes at the markets and pet-sitting.

Outside of her day program, Em's spare moments are filled with energy and enthusiasm. Horror movies might give her a scare, but she still loves watching them. Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, and Nicki Minaj are her go-to music artists, and you'll often find her dancing to their beats like nobody's watching.

Em's also quite at home in the kitchen, where she takes pleasure in preparing her favourite meals and experimenting with new recipes. But her day isn't just about solo adventures. Spending quality time with her boyfriend, busting moves with the Waltz-Sing Matildas dance crew, and indulging her artistic side with crafts make her days exciting.

"I really enjoy being at home. There's always something fun to do, from cooking up a storm to watching movies," Em says with a grin.

As Em continues to build her independence, she stands out as a shining example of how to fully embrace life with open arms.

Searching for an ideal housemate, just like Em

Em's enthusiasm for life spills over into her search for the perfect housemate. She has a clear picture of who she's looking for.

Em spells it out, "I want someone who's beautiful both inside and out – someone kind, nice, and with a great sense of humour.”

“They should be outgoing, ready to chat, and up for a bit of crafty fun. Oh, and horror movie lovers are a big plus! Being tidy and clean is a must – who likes a messy place anyway?"

She's got a practical side too. "I hope they look after their mental health, as that is important to me. And they've got to be okay with my boyfriend coming over every Friday night."
