The Life Without Barriers board is delighted to announce it has appointed esteemed international business leader Greg Ridder as Chair of its Board of Directors.
Greg is an experienced Chair, bringing a portfolio of interests and experience at Board level through strategic advice, with an appreciation for practical implementation. With a demonstrated record of superior outcomes, strong leadership skills, and strategic thinking, he leads by example with unwavering ethics.
“Life Without Barriers offers essential services to thousands of Australians nationwide. We know that reliance on charitable organisations will likely increase in the years ahead, as we try to regain stability following the impact of the global pandemic.
“There are also long-standing social justice issues that far too many people in Australia are facing. I look forward to being part of an organisation that disrupts the barriers many people face now, and in the future,” Greg said.
He says what drew him to Life Without Barriers, was the important work Life Without Barriers does across Australia for the people they support and the dedication that is so evident in everyone he has met so far.
“I have spent a lot of time understanding the history of Life Without Barriers and the legacy it has forged over that time. That legacy stems largely from the fortitude of one of our founding members, Terry Lawler."
“As Terry makes the decision to retire from his role as Chair, I want to thank him for trusting me with this important role, and I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to work with you and support you in achieving our purpose as a community.
“I see my role as Chair as supporting our Chief Executive, Claire Robbs, and indeed all of Life Without Barriers team, to do what you do best – partnering with people to change lives for the better,” Greg said.
Greg is the Independent Non-Executive Chairman for Kogan.com Ltd. and Chairman of Ethical Property Australia Pty Ltd.
He is also on the Board of Spirit Technology Solutions Ltd, PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd and Phoenix Australia (former Chief Executive Officer & Director) and is a Member of CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Greg previously occupied the position of Chairman at Tibaldi Australia Pty Ltd., Chief Executive Officer for The Royal Australian Institute of Architects Ltd., Chief Financial Officer of World Vision Australia and President-Asia Pacific Region at NYSE listed Owens-Illinois, Inc. He has also served on the boards of Oxfam Australia and B Lab Australia & NZ.
