Since the Access Inclusion and Employment Plan's (AIEP or the Plan) launch, teams across Life Without Barriers have diligently worked towards creating a more inclusive and accessible workplace and improving employment opportunities for people with disability.
We are excited to share our progress on our 2022-2025 AIEP.
Premises
Assess all new and existing properties for accessibility
Our process for assessing new and existing properties for accessibility is operating BAU.
Procurement
Review procurement policy, procedure, and guidelines for the selection of suppliers and partners
We updated the Procurement Policy Guideline in late 2023 to strengthen our commitment to working with suppliers and partners who value diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Customer Experience
Measuring the impact of our work against our strategic goals
We finalised the Impact Measurement Framework. We recognise that recording and widely reporting our outcomes helps us improve. We will use this transparency to encourage us all to do better for the people we support and each other and to enact the change we know is needed. The Framework includes the organisational Theory of Change, which outlines our approach to impact measurement, and the six high-level shared impact areas representing the most significant outcomes across each service area and program. Work is underway to develop an implementation plan for the Framework.
Review DMH policies and procedures for accessibility and inclusive language
Disability Mental Health (DMH) policies and procedures are now publicly available on our website. We reviewed the documents to ensure they are accessible and inclusive. Easy English versions have been and will continue to be developed as required. All documents use our suite of accessible templates, and a practice guide was created and is in use to ensure accessibility is BAU.
We are proud of our continued progress toward a more inclusive and accessible workplace.
Employment Pathways
Innovating and investing in new employment pathways and initiatives
We launched the Young People’s Employment Pathways (YPEP), a program offered by Life Without Barriers that supports young people with disability across New South Wales and Western Australia to gain skills and experience and to find meaningful employment.
