How does it work?
We are committed to providing opportunities to students to ensure they receive valuable industry experience in a sector that makes a difference in the lives of communities across Australia.
It is imperative that we have a committed and skilled workforce to provide quality care to the people we support.
Student placement (also known as vocational, work, clinical or field placement) is a structured assessable component of a student’s course that helps to prepare them for the workforce.
Focussed on linking their knowledge and skills with real workplace situations, students must complete specific tasks over a minimum number of hours and to industry standards.
Participating in a student placement with Life Without Barriers means we can create career paths for students living in our community who are interested in people.
The training provided will be relevant to the workplace and industry standards and to your schooling. This means after your work placement and study, you may be able to get a full-time job at Life Without Barriers like Sally did!
“We have seen real success from students coming to us for a short placement and then thriving in the program and staying on for full-time employment.” Natalie Goodman-Jones, Learning & Development Manager.
