Belonging: Making Friends, Building Community
The Disability Dialogue is a safe space where people with disability, families, representative organisations, providers, researchers, and the wider community work together on things that matter to us.
Last year, the Disability Dialogue asked people with disability what supports they needed to live the life they wanted. Many people said they wished they had more support to make friends and be included in their community.
This event will focus on belonging and what it means to connect with community. We'll be joined by guest speakers Emma Myers, Professor Sally Robinson, Todd Winther, and Tim Cahalan, who will share their insights on important questions like:
What kind of support makes a difference in building friendships?
What helps and what gets in the way of community connections?
How can we actually build inclusive communities?
Come along to be part of the conversation about friendship and community!
Date: Wednesday, 16 April
Time: 1pm
Location: Online.
For more information or to register, visit the Disability Dialogue's website. If you can’t make this event, sign up for emails about future events here.
