New South Wales
The AbSec Aboriginal Child and Family Conference
Join Life Without Barriers at the AbSec Aboriginal Child and Family Conference!
This comprehensive three-day event is dedicated to those working with and supporting Aboriginal children, young people, and families. The conference will offer a blend of educational sessions, practical workshops, cultural performances, and opportunities for networking and celebration, all aimed at fostering understanding and empowerment.
Jessica Cocks, Manager Service Design and Innovation, Children and Families, Stride Team, will participate in a panel presentation about Family Inclusion in Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care, exploring the work of family and community led organisations in building family inclusion for children. The panellists will argue for family inclusion and participation at every level of the system.
As a proud sponsor of this year’s event, Life Without Barriers is excited to join sector and community leaders in meaningful conversations about the challenges Aboriginal people face and to collaborate on possible solutions.

Young People's Employment Pathways Webinar
Join our free information session to learn about employment pathways for young people with disability aged 15 and above!
Our Employment Pathways Coaches will chat about practical ways to explore different careers options and industries, enhance your skills and capacity, and work towards your employment goals. This includes the unique way we deliver NDIS School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES).
Key highlights of the session:
Learn about the diverse options for school leavers.
Gain valuable information to make informed decisions about your post-school pathways.
Hear stories about young people who have successfully gone on to secure jobs or further training opportunities.
This free online event is open to students, parents, carers, support providers, and teachers.

Queensland
North Lakes Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser hosted by Life Without Barriers
Life Without Barriers' Foster Care team is hosting a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle to gather funds to bring Christmas joy to children in out-of-home care and raise awareness about the need for foster carers in the Moreton Bay Region.
Come down to Bunnings to grab a sausage and chat with our friendly staff about all things foster care. Our staff can talk you through the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers.

Woodford Country Markets
The Woodford Country Markets offer a lively community experience, inviting locals and visitors alike to connect and enjoy the talents of regional artisans, farmers, and crafters.
We will have a stall at the market, and our friendly staff will be available to answer any questions you have about foster care.

Cuppa in the Communi-tea
This free, accessible, and inclusive event connects residents with different service providers in the local community and council departments and offers technology support, free Wi-Fi, and the chance to borrow some books from the Mobile Library Van.
Drop in, have a cuppa, and chat with the Life Without Barriers team. Our friendly staff and foster carers will be happy to share information and insights into what it's like to be a foster carer in Queensland and answer any questions you might have.

Maitland Community Connections Day
Come along to the Maitland Community Connections Day, a free event celebrating International Men's Day. This event is open to all and will include stalls hosted by service providers in the local community, industry demonstrations and a free BBQ.

Adelaide Pride March
Life Without Barriers' staff, carers, and participants will join Adelaide's LGBTQIA+ community at the Adelaide Pride March, celebrating LGBTIQA+ identity, history, culture, diversity, solidarity, inclusiveness, and creativity.
The March will be followed by Adelaide's premiere Street Party "Poppin Out" in Synagogue Place, continuing the celebration with high-energy music, dazzling performances, and an inclusive space where everyone can dance and connect.
Our staff will have a stall at the Street Party and will be ready to chat with you about all things foster care and our current career opportunities.

Adelaide Picnic in the Park
Come along to Picnic in the Park!
This fabulous community event, presented by Feast Festival, is a great day out for friends and family. Explore artisan market stalls, community information villages, the petting zoo and more while enjoying live entertainment and a variety of cuisines from local food vendors.
We will have a stall at the market, and our friendly staff will be available to discuss our disability and mental health services, and answer any questions you have about foster care.

Come along to the annual Semaphore Street Fair! This free, family-friendly event is full of fun and entertainment, with activities, performers, and a large array of stalls to explore.
