In addition to assisting clients with psychosocial disability transition to the NDIS, Life Without Barriers’ mental health services in Western Australia include community-based, residential and psychology programs.

Mental health, recovery and psychosocial disability within NDIS

We can assist you with understanding and interpreting your NDIS plan, get the most out of your NDIS budget and link with a range of other services (public health, housing, education, employment).

Individualised Community Living Strategy (ICLS)

State-wide

Provision of quality psychosocial support, empowering individuals in their recovery. We assist those with mental health conditions to:

  • Maintain safe housing

  • Address clinical and psychosocial needs

  • Build social connections

  • Contribute to their communityContribute to their community

  • Pursue educational and vocational opportunities

  • Develop self-management skills.

All referrals to this program are through community mental health services.

Ngatti House Residential Recovery Program

Perth Metro area

Located in Fremantle, Ngatti House offers safe and secure accommodation for young people aged 17 to 22 years while they work on their mental health recovery over a 12 month period.

Alongside YouthReach South who provide clinical case management, Life Without Barriers support residents to identify goals and develop strengths and skills to create a meaningful future.

Young people who are experiencing mental health challenges and are homeless or at risk of homelessness, may apply for the program.

Culturally Diverse Psychological Service

Perth Metro area

Culturally appropriate and evidence based psychological counselling is available to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who are aged 12 years and older and experiencing mild to moderate psychological distress.

Clients can receive 10 counselling sessions and interpreters are arranged if needed. This service is provided completely free of charge with a GP referral.

The service is available only to residents of the Perth metropolitan area.
